From very early on, Don’s parents taught him the values of hard work, personal responsibility, and that giving back to the community is a promise we all owe. Don has never been afraid to speak up and is running for Legislature because he wants to give back to the community that has given him so much.
Don’s father was a Nebraska farmer, laborer, union member, and veteran, and his mother was a teacher and helped out on the farm. Throughout his adult life, Don has had to work multiple jobs in order to get by. Don continues to farm the same piece of land in Wymore as his parents, and after retiring from the NRCS, formed a small business that performs surveys and design work for agricultural land owners.
